Axle/Gears: 3:23
Will 700R4 work with LT1 ?!?

I am about to do an engine swap from a 305 crossfire injection to a 383 LT1. I would like to know if I will still be able to use my current 700R4, or do I need to upgrade to a 4L60?

Engine: LS1/LQ4
Transmission: 4L60E/4L80E
Axle/Gears: 12B-3.73/9"-3.89
The TH700R-4 and 4L60 are the same transmission. The '93 LT1 used the 4L60. '94-up LT1 went to the 4L60E. So, if you use a '93 TB, it will work with your TH700R-4.

Are you planning a rebuild and/or upgrades to your TH700R-4?

Yes I am. Any helpful tips on a good performance rebuild for the 700R4? Oh, and what kind of torque converter and stall would you recommend?

The Tranny/Drivetrain forum is the place to look for TH700 upgrades.

What torque converter you use depends upon the cam you're going to use.

BTW, I'm not completely clear about the compatibility of the '93 TB with '94-up MAF system. You'd better do some more research on that topic.
