Wanting to put this in a 1989 Z28
I was driving past this house today when I saw MANY tucks and vintage cars etc. I stopped by to ask if they had any engines for sale. After trying several times to explain that I didn't want a ford (he had 489?? something like that...EFI with wiring etc etc. for real cheap!) I eventually found out from him he had a 366
He told me that a 366 was the same block as a 454 which basically just tells me its a big block. He said that it had 28,000 original KM on it but had been sitting for the past 8 years in his barn and figured it would be pretty tight if it wasn't sceased.
I'm looking to get which ever engine I buy hot tanked etc. but would that be enough to remove whatever this thing has on it from sitting so long? Also, I wasn't firmiliar with a 366 as I've only looked into 350,383, 400 and 450's. Is this still a GM engine that I could drop in without any modifications?
He wants 700 for the complete engine, any suggestions?

I might be wrong but I think a 366 is a 400 block with a 350 crank, not a big block, but im not for sure.

Yes its a big block that came in trucks. Not sure what year I have never seen one.It has a 3.935 bore and a 3.760 stroke. This is not a motor to use!!!! The bore is tiny for a big block and the stroke is the same as a 396 big block. If your going big block it all costs the same to build so build big. Use a 454 block and bore it out and stroke it if you want. Also 400 with a 350 crank is a 377.
