Engine: 5.7 L98
Transmission: 700R4
LS1 or 396 TPI
Just thought I would ask anybody's opinion on this. I have a choice to either rebuild my L98 with an Eagle forged strokert kit, TFS 23 Degree heads Comp Magnum Cam, Holley Stealth Ram with race prepped 700R4 or complete drop in LS1 with the 4L603 trans. Cost is close but if given the opportunity which one would you pick? Thanks for the input.

I like the 396 Holley Stealth Ram with rebuilt 700r4 better. But if your goal is to have a little bit better gas mileage and if you like electronic trannys than LS1.

I would go with the LS1, but then again I'm partial to the new technology motors.
