HELP! 305 to 350 swap
HELP! 305 to 350 swap
Hey, I am looking into buying a new motor for my 1989 Trans Am. I am thinking about buying the GM Goodwrench 350/290 HP because of the relativly cheap price and decent low end torque.
I know that it has pre 1987 heads on it and only 8.5:1 compression ratio, but do anyone know if I can modify my 305's TBI manifold to bolt onto the old style heads? And how about the stock in-tank fuel pump, will it flow enough for this engine after I bolt on some 350 injectors and change the computer? Also, will a stock computer from a 350 powered truck work?
Any advice would be great!
Thanks

You can modify the manifold to fit the heads. It also has a 2-piece rearmain seal which requires a different flexplate than your TBI engine has.
