engine swap ploblems
I had a 350 and i just put in a new 383 stroker. The car does not have a computer on it and I did have the car running for a couple of days and it was running good. Im running a old school style with carburetor and a hei distributor. then it started running rough then the coil, module and the fuse in the fuse box fried. I heard on 383 stoker motors you got to change the gear on the distributor. I replaced the coil, module and the fuse and now it will not start. I am out of ideas on why I cant get it to run and would like some advise on anything to check or look at.

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.
There is no particular reason you would need to change the distributor gear for a 383. The only reason for changing the gear is if the cam is made from a billet, in which case you need a bronze gear.
Do some basic troubleshooting - is the distributor turning, do you have power to the coil, do you have spark, are the cap & rotor in good shape, etc.
Are you getting fuel?
