Have you seen this site for the LT1 wiring: 4th Gen LT1 F-Body Tech Aids I wish I could have found the same level of info for my 87 body. A Chilton's book is getting me by.

There are VSS to mechanical adapters, but I'm switching to a programable electronic Autometer gauge for my swap. I look for the adapter suppliers when I get home tonight.

I'm building a custom dash and interior as part of my project. I haven't gotten that far yet. Summit Racing has the gauge I plan to use for $210. On your LT1 harness its the white 10-pin connector (C220) that is inside the car. Pin "G", dark green with a white stripe is the VSS signal that is connected to the speedometer. Then you need a ground, keyed power, lights from your dash. I haven't identified those yet. Hope your good with a test light.

To use the original speedo, you would need a Cable X box

Abbott Enterprises - cable x

CableX Speedometer Cable

I used all autometer guages when I swapped my LT in. I bought a wrining kit specifically for 82-92 F bodies. The kit was kind of expensive but it had a reall good diagram of what each of the wires were on the two guage plugs. Let me know if you could use the diagram.

I would like to know when your all finished how you did with emissions, I heard something about having a "Ref" change the system to(well in your case) a 1994 camaro/firebird setup. It all sounds confusing to me, but I'd still like to do it. Thanks.
