2.8L to 5.7L fuel injection. What all is needed to complete swap?

Yes, i know im a n00b but i read the stickys and couldnt find an answer.. i only found an answer for Fuel injection to carb'ed.

I just bought a 1985 Pontiac Firebird for 200 dollars. It has the 2.8l motor that is fuel injected. The body is straight and has chrome rims with wider tires in the back.. Now heres the catch. It hasnt been wrecked or anything like that, but the 2.8L motor that is in it is tore down to the timing chain, and it is supposed to be brand new rebuilt. They say the engine was getting NO compression. So, gradually they thought it was the timing chain. I was personally thinking the piston rings were put in upside down, but my dad informed me they only go one way and its not possible to put them on upside down? But anyways, on to my question, i plan on this being my project car, and i want to swap in a 350 fuel injected motor that i have yet to buy - i know i will need a tranny also.

What all do i need to change and what do i have to do to make the swap work? I know change the pcm's, but i know nothing about wiring. Also its the 2.8 motor mounts, and i have heard i just need an adapter or something that fits on to them to make the stock motor mounts work with a SBC?

I know the swap to carb'ed from Fuel Injection would be fairly easier, but i want to do this one right and not rig stuff like i normally do. ..

Any imput is appreciated. Thanks.

There is way too much info you need to talk you thru it over the internet. You are going to need someone to help you in person.
I can give you the basics like new motor mounts for a V8, the correct fuel injection harness for the intake you're using, the correct computer and chip, a transmission for a Chevy V8, a V8 radiator and fan, etc etc.

If you are asking this question then I assume you now very little. First start hanging out with people that do know, start reading everything you can get your hands on about cars. You need to try and learn as much as you can before you start.

If you have the whole donor car, it's not much more than photographing and labelling everything as it comes apart and putting it back into the other car. If it's a JY donor, take everything attached to the engine no matter where it is on the car. Photographing and labelling along the way, of course.
