86 camaro engine is out , any ideas!!! help needed now
hello all,
I have a 1986 chevy camaro with a 305 locked up in it.
Its a 4bbl auto and 2 bolt main,
-someone local has a 350 4bbl out of an 87 chevy 4 me,.im thinkin about getting it and a bigger cam.
Im assuming I dont need anything custom?? just swap everything over???
2. what all other engines do I have the option of putting in this monster for more power etc
help me out while im here thanks

350 out of an '87 what? Could be just fine, could have lame heads.
You don't want to overdo it with the cam. Keep the lift below .480" most likely, figure on new valve springs if you change the cam. Keep duration and LSA reasonable to keep the computer happy.
As you can see from my sig, it isn't a bad place to start.

Again, depends upon what the 350 is. If out of a truck with dished pistons, large chamber heads with small valves, then the answer is probably "yes". Would be even better if you worked over the 305 heads with 1.94" intake valves and basic port/bowl work. If the 350 came out of a passenger car, then the answer is probably "no".
