My son has a 1986 Z28, and if he keeps it, we want to take the stock TPI 305 out and get a GM 350 to slide in for a tad more power and a new warranty. Now, we don't want to change out all the computer, but don't mind having it modded if it helps. The 290 HP version will be fine, but can we add a tad more cam and still retain the same TPI off the 305? We want to keep it semi mild to stock. I don't really want to go carb'd at this time since he uses it daily. But a mild 290 crate, with a mild cam, and just put back on the TPI.

What cam would help this low compression motor and retain emisions and re0use the TPI??
