305 to 350
My 1986 Z28 has a 305 carburated engine I was thinking of swapping it with a 5.7 TPI. Seeing this would be my first attempt at an engine swap what am I looking at for a job. And will this engine bolt right up or will there be a lot of work to bolt it in.

Are you talking about putting in the 350 engine, or putting in the 350 engine with its TPI system?
If the latter, you're looking at a lot of work switching harnesses, sensors, fuel pump, etc.
If you're talking about the former, the 350 will basically bolt in. The only possible exception is the the intake manifold if the 350 is of the '87-later variety. Then the center two intake manifold bolt holes on each side will have to be modified because the heads have those bolt holes at a different angle, but that isn't a big deal.
I'd recommend the former, by the way. Easier, very little loss of fuel economy, and better power potential.
