Engine: 383 stroker
Transmission: th350
Axle/Gears: 10 bolt posi with 373 ring and pini
queastion abo a engine kit
ok i bought a 350 block the year of the block is backin the 70i beleive it was a 78 can i but a 81- 84 engine kit to put in the 78 blockl or dose it haftto be the same year parts that are made for that year of block

The only difference between those years was the dipstick was on the driver's side on the earlier engines and on the passenger side on the later engines. It changes the oil pan gasket. A lot of kits contain the gaskets for either type, but if this one doesn't, all you have to do is get a pan gasket for it.
