How much detail do you need? Route the fuel line to a return-style regulator, outlet of the reg to carb, return from the reg to return line. Set to 4-6 psi.

When you have a TPI pump you have too much pressure to safely use the regulater I would pull the pump and run a line to the bottom of the tank use the factory lines from the tank to the engine compartment and add either a electric aftermarket or on engine pump , I know some people will disagree with me on this but after seeing a couple of fires from improperly done TPI swaps done with cheep regulators I cant recomend doing it that way with a TPI pump A TBI is a different story as they are only 12-15 PSI easier to regulate and less pressure to go through the lines which some people seem to think regular rubber fuel line is good enough to handle the high pressure (it's not regular line is good to around 10 PSI safely) it's your choice but consider what it could cost if something went wrong ...

There's nothing wrong with using the TPI pump as long as you use a proper return style reg. Return style regs aren't cheapies.

TBI pumps don't supply enough volume to handle much power. If you're dropping the tank to change from a TPI to a TBI pump, you're putting a bunch of effort towards little more than disappointment.

You can use a TPI pump on a TBI system. It will just bypass and keep the pressure where it needs to be. Many aftermarket replacement TBI pumps are the same thing they sell for TPI.

As long as you do it right, you aren't risking a car fire using a TPI pump to feed a carb.
