350 and trans from 93 silverado into 92 camaro HELP!!!

this swap should b easy right?? my dad totalled his 1993 silverado 1500 2wd but the engine and trans are still good. i have a 92 camaro rs with a 305 and 700r4. the tranny just went out at 215,000 miles! yes 215,000!! the motor is still goin strong but is on its last limb ya know? everything has been taken care of. but anyways, i know that the 350 out of the truck is an easy swap, but the tranny, im not sure if its a 700r4 like the one in my car. is there anyone that can tell me if it is a 700r4? ive been searching and i cant find **** on it. and when i get the engine out of my dads truck im goin to take the air conditioning, smog pump, powersteering, computer, and TBI off. im goin to swap the tbi with a holly 650cfm. if anyone can give me anytips about any of this that would b great too.

I believe that is a 4L60 transmission, identical to the TH700R-4. If it has a throttle valve cable on the throttle body, then it should be the same transmission. If memory serves, they went to the 4L60E in 1994.

If in fact they went to the 4L60E in 1993, then you would be better off rebuilding your transmission.

What's needed to install a 350 in place of a 3rd gen f-body LO3 is covered in better detail in the TBI forum.

Actually, the 1993 should have a 4L60E. I would swap it complete with the 350, KEEP the 4L60E. You will like it, especially when you get into modding the 350. Driveability is MUCH better with the 4L60E than with a 700r4.

Keep the TBI setup from the truck on it and use the trucks ECM to run it.
