V6 MPFI - V8 383
V6 MPFI - V8 383
I've started building a 383 for 86 camaro, it's got a 2.8L V6. I'm not sure which type of induction or heads I'm gonna run yet. I'm not sure if I want to go TPI or Carb. And I not sure which heads I want to run, the guy I bought alot of the motor from threw in a set of low compession 305 heads, but I'm thinkin' no. Any suggestions

Low compression 305 heads? Never heard of that. What are the casting numbers of the heads?
TPI and 383 aren't a good combo without a whole bunch of aftermarket parts. If you don't already have them, you probably don't want to go that route.
You really need to determine your usage and performance goals, and pick things that work well together to meet those goals. You could put on 220 cc AFR heads, but with a Performer cam and intake, you'd have yourself a real dog. Ditto with RPM manifold, XE282 cam, and stock 305 heads. In fact, you shouldn't even get pistons until you know what heads you're going to use.
Define your goals, and then put together an engine "package". Putting together a bunch of miscellaneous parts is a recipe for disappointment.
