old school engine or new school
hey guyz im going to build me an engine for my car but im jus wondering should i use a ls2 block and carb it or go wit and 383 stroker....what are the pro and cons i will b faced wit on da build up

If you're going carb, I'd say stay old school. I have yet to see a carb'd LSx engine make more power than the same engine with EFI. Going carb'd LSx would negate about 75% of the benefits of the LSx swap.

And a bunch of LS1 EFI out there are making 450 all the time. That's my point.

You gotta go new school, meaning LSx with fuel injection. The pros of fuel injection are just too big, more power PLUS the fact that fuel injection is one of the biggest contributors to late-model engines lasting longer than dad's old-school carburetor motors.
OK, I'm biased. Fuel injection means wiring and ECMs while carburetors mean you can still tune it yourself. If you aint comfortable with someone tuning your setup and ECM, then go carburetor. But if you do just buy an old-style sbc and save yourself some money.

im in the same case i already have a 4 bolt main 350 to replace my 305, and i want to get atleast 400 horse out of it and keep it smog legal, but know im looking into the ls2 crate 400hp, but im not sure of the legality of it.
