Fuel Tank Pick-Up
Fuel Tank Pick-Up
Brought a '88 TA that already has a 350/330 Vortec head crate mtr running a carb.
The prior owner ran the stock throttle body fuel pump and a regulator. The pump is dead and would like to convert to mechanical fuel pump.
Does anyone know what fuel tank pick-up to use so I can eliminate the stock electric pump?
Is it even possible to eliminate the stock setup and still retain the the fuel sending unit?
Thanks for any responses.

Re: Fuel Tank Pick-Up
I have a 92 RS Camaro that i dropped the tank on and took the fuel pump off and had a extension (same length with pump on) welded on and kept the same sending unit.

Check out the sticky on the subject at the top of the Carburetor forum.
Re: Fuel Tank Pick-Up
Thanks for the help. All the answers were on that sticky in the carb forum. Good stuff.
Also found out that the fuel tanks are not too easy to pull. Seems that it helps to lower the rear by unbolting the shocks pan rod and the torque arm to allow the rear to drop down.
