Welcome to thirdgen.org.

"Bolt right in" is a two-edged sword. Yes, you can find a 350 that will "bolt right in". But, will it run right? Probably not.

Your car has an electronic fuel injection system known as "throttle body injection", or TBI. It was designed primarily to give the unsuspecting new car buyer the impression that they were getting a "performance" car while maintaining the "corporate average fuel economy", or "CAFE" government-imposed fuel economy standards. It did both things well, while never really being a true "performance" car. They did things to accomplish those goals that make modifications a little tricky.

Check out the "TBI" forum on this Board. They have a lot better information about what you need to do to successfully swap in a 350 for your stock LO3 TBI 305.
