What swap would you most like to see in a third gen?

Well as many of you may know. I did a 350 corvette swap into a 78' el camino. Thought it was fun and i learned alot my heart wasn't in it. I also have a 92 3.1 Camaro and well yeah you guessed it the 350's coming out of the el camino and goes into the coolmaro.

Well that's going to be my project, but what engine would you guys most like to see in a third gen?

I've seen truck motors,LS1's,Lt's... but i always thought it would be awesome to see a 327 or 396 backed up by a glide?

So my thread is as follows...Does anyone else have any crazy fantasies about a swap they'd do if they didnt already set up their car? or What swap (crazy as they may be) would you most like to see in a third gen??

camaros look cool and fast so make yours fast. dont do a glide and 327. do a tko600 with a motor with tons of torque and great hp. It would be great fun.

I want to see a twin turbo 455 super duty in one.
I'd also like to drop a tuned 305 into my friend's metro so we can race rich kids for slips lol.

Re: What swap would you most like to see in a third gen?

hey, I have thought of this about 2 yrs ago. How about a 427 Yenko 3rd Gen! Get you a 3rd Gen drop a worked 427 in it and stripe it up just like the 69 Yenko Camaro. Someone needs to do this one!

put a big ol duramax diesel in one of these cars, theyd be pushing amazing power, and gas is cheaper.

A Duramax is only 6.6l. Externally, it's between a SBC and BBC.

Duramax turbo - now that would be cool. Seeing some 6000lb trucks doing the quarter under 13 sec at 5800', one can only imagine what they'd do in a 3700lb 3rd gen.

Around here, fuel is cheaper than gas. . .

Re: What swap would you most like to see in a third gen?

How about a vortec 4200 6 cylinder and a 5 speed?
And then maybe a small turbo to go with it.

LT5 oh yeah.

I've only seen it in one 3rd gen before but that was pretty much a factory one off.

Re: What swap would you most like to see in a third gen?

LS7...505hp and good looks to boot. Such a sweet, sweet motor. I'd just have to find someone to put "Trans Am" on the engine cover rather than "Corvette". Oh, and hooked to my 700r4 is cool, or better yet, the new Audi Automatic 6-speed. Oh yeah, evil on wheels.

Re: What swap would you most like to see in a third gen?

I love the old school look, but I love new school technology. So my swap would be a 400SBC .030 over with a 327 crank, topped off with an Offenhouser Crossram and dual 750CFM TBI units, backed with a 6spd. Now there is a 350 to be afraid of...

Finish the car off with a reverse Hockey stick paint job (start right above the front fender and carry it back and across the 91-92 Z28 wing) and there you go.... Black/Orange or Orange/Black

18" TT2's in the front and 16's in the back....

It's not always about being the fastest cause "FYI" there is always someone faster. Being different and standing out is the name of the game....

Re: What swap would you most like to see in a third gen?

3.8 V6/200R4...

Oh yea, did I forget to specify, WITH the turbo, and intercooler, from a Grand National or 89 Turbo TA? Stock, it was rated at 250 hp "officially" due to the GM decree that nothing makes more power than the Corvette. Dyno'd stock, the TTA, it tested at over 300. You can mod it up, and push 400 hp easily. 400 hp isn't lot, but you'll also have a lighter engine.

Well, this has been "fun", but it's obviously outside of the scope of the technical discussions for which this forum is intended.
