350 block?
Hi guys,
Ive got some questions about this block GM Goodwrench#10066036 "hecho en mexico" I've had this 350 in my car for about 15,000 mile, I bought it used and it has worked well with just edelbrock performer stuff on it. Now I'm turning my car in a drag car and wanting to build a 383 with this block, I'm wondering how much this hp/tq this block can handle or if any of you have used this block for high performance 500+ power. I had a guy tell me that he has heard of goodwrench blocks cracking in the lifter valley? Anybody else heard bad news about these blocks?

Re: 350 block?
i see no reason why it would not hold 500 horse, many crate engines making more than that start with the same block. if cracking is a high concerns you could always fill he block and that would solve most of those problem.

There's a product out there called "Hard Blok" http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...=KeywordSearch. After mixing, it is poured into the water jacket where it hardens and stiffens up the block. It can be a "short fill", only filling the lower portion of the water jacket to allow some cooling in the upper cylinder area, or a "tall fill" to completely surround the cylinder walls (for racing only, obviously).

Re: 350 block?
I dont think that is the route I want to go, as this car will probably see a little more than just a 1/4 mile at a time. Thanks for the info of the block filler though. Anybody else have a opinion?
