will the 3.1 tach in a 91 bird work for the 350 i put in it......well work correctly anyways cause i know it works and isnt too far off but does it read accurately?

NO.
The V6 distrib puts out 3 pulses per revolution and the V8 distrib puts out 4. pulses per rev.
