GUAGES, TACH, OIL PRESSURE, TEMP

I just need to know which wire that come from the d/s "connector" are for the oil, tach, and temp gauges. i removed my tbi system and nwo i have carb. i bleeive that the oil pressure sensor was a little dirfferent on my old motor but i can remember.(see pic)

theres a pic of my new oil pressure sensor. it just has one tab on it that you put a female end of a connector on. im pretty sure the one off my old 91 305 was different.? maybe not tho

Re: GUAGES, TACH, OIL PRESSURE, TEMP

The water temp wire should be a green wire, the oil pressure wire will be brown or tan. I actually had that same issue with my carbed converted crossfire car. The previous owner was not so smart and left the old sender in it, which was a different style that had 4 wires going to the sender, so I had to go in there and fix the issue. The reason was that some of the tbi systems had a back up where the pump could still come on with the relay being dead if the sender was reading oil pressure. If your connector for your old tbi sender had 4 or 5 wires, most or all but one being pink, just cut the tan/brown wire out of the harness, put a spade connector on the wire, then hook it up to the other, single terminal sender. That should fix the problem and you should have an oil pressure reading.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!!
