90' V6 TPI to 92' V8 TBI no speedo!!!
Ok, Im new here and this is my first thread. I have a 1990 camaro that came with a 3.1 TPI V6... Started knocking trans started slipping... Also have a 1992 TBI V8 (wrecked)... good motor and trans... Guess what. Yup, I pulled engine, transmission, harness + PCM, as a whole and did a swap into my 1990 camaro. Relocated battery, canister, cruise, motormounts brake line the whole 9 yards... Turned key, Started right up. YEAH! however the vss signal to the pcm is now been lost. On the 1990 V6 TPI camaro. the vss signal runs through the yellow and purple wires throught the harness on passenger side directly into the pcm. However doing the swap the new harness on the 1992 V8 TBI camaro. It goes up the drivers side and into the bulkhead connector at the drivers side. Now the signal is lost at that connector and Im not sure how to get the signal back to the pcm. The speedometer does not work at all now and as a result the cruise will not either... I dont want to have to pull both dashes as well if I can help it. The tbi wiring diagram shows the signal from the vss going through a speed sensor buffer and than into a brown wire in to pin a-10 at the pcm... Im lost and need a little help here if possible.......

You need to have the VSS signal from the trans hooked up to that yellow VSS buffer, then to the ECM to make the speedo work.

I dont understand the (buffer) where is it... thers 2 wires coming from the vss sensor (at the tailshaft) one purple one yellow..... so where do they go now?
