swap '88 GTA 305 TPI to '76 vette 350 TBI?
Hello
I have '88 GTA 305 TPI (LB9) 190 hp, th700-4r and now i have opportunitie to buy '76 vettes rebuilt 350 TBI engine 350-400 hp + rebuilt 350 gearbox.
the main idea is to get more 200 horsepower at once but there are lot of issues.
1)If i change the engines then lots of wires ( injection etc ) no need anymore and brain need to be modified much. Is it bossible to do like that'?
2)I have digital dashboard, does the engine swap affect olso dashboard( oil pressure, water temp, voltage, mileage, speed, car system schek) or car brain does not controll it?
Does anyone has done that kind of swap?

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.
There was no TBI Vette in '76. There was no TBI in '76.
200 more HP than you have now is going to be a stretch with TPI or TBI without power adder. With carb, not hard to do.
The digital dashboard isn't affected by the engine under the hood.

How much are you going to pay for this engine and trans? If the engine is what the person says it is, if it is used it is still only worth about $6-700....and that is if it is in good shape. I have a hard time believing it is putting out that kind of power though. They didn't hit that kind of power in a vette till the 90's in stock form. And even then they were LS1's (or ZR-1's). I would do some checking into this 350-400 hp '76 vette motor a little more. Why not buy a newer short (or long) block instead? You can re-use your TPI, and everything will just work...plus you will know exactly what you have.

The price is times more. I olso trayed the engine 2 nd gen camaro and it moves betterly than my gta even the camaro weight is 1700 kg and gta 100 kg less. It means the engine must be built up because the original 76 vette was 200 bhp. the engine power can be measured back wheels and before i buy it i arrange a measuring to be sure.
But main issue was that how mush electronical ecuipment can be remain and how much just need to be closed because the older version TBI engine.
And what gives signals to digital dashboard and elliminating the cars brain is the dash still works?
The engine belongs one of the fastest drag racer in my country so i know that he dont sell crap just used details.
If i look newer engines for idea to remain all TPI option ( injection, cruise control, etc) then what do you recomend to get more 200 hp- (383 stroker longblok)?

76 Vettes DID NOT come with TBI. TBI wasn't invented until sevveral years later.
But none of that matters. Your TPI stuff will ALL bolt right up to the 350; so there's no issue with electronics, sensors, or any of that.
You will need to do 3 things related to the year-model difference: elongate the 2 center bolt holes on your intake manifold; get a flexible oil dipstick, or a set of headers (the later-model exhaust maniflods are DIRECTLY IN THE PATH of the older dipstick); and get a flex plate for 83-85 Camaro/Firebird V8. It will be the right size to work with your starter, but will have the right bolt pattern to fit your crank.
You will need to get 4 things related to the 305/350 difference: a set of 350 injectors; a 350 PROM (chip); a knock sensor; and the ESC module.
Other than that, it is a direct drop-in, bolt-up swap.

That 76 350 TBI motor sounds like a bunch of B.S.
