305 to 350 to 383?
Im a newbie on here but I decided its time to start making my '92 305 a little bit more fun. Im just trying to figure out where to start. One thing id like to do instead of building up my 305 is swap it out for a 350. If i go to a junkyard and buy a used 350 can I bore it out to a 383? Or is that going to cause problems? Would I be better of leaving it a 350 or is the extra power of the 383 going to be worth it. Do I save stuff off my 305 for the project? Im somewhat literate when it comes to this stuff but im still learning so hope I don't sound stupid. What else should I do it since I would like to get it to somewhere around 400rwhp. Thanks in advance for the advice.
Some specs:
1992 Camaro RS 305 t.b.i
700R4
2.73 open rear end
Already have flo-tech shorty headers, cut the cat. off, y-pipe is 2.5 dia., backpipe is 3.0 dia., took the air pump for the exhaust off, K&N air cleaner. B&M Megashifter.

funner?
If you want 400 rwhp, go with the 383, it will be more streetable. a 383 btw, is a 350 with a longer stroke, not bored out. Do you have to worry about emissions?

well, a .030 overbore would give you a 383, a .040, a 385 and so on. a 3.875 stroke would give you a 396 and a 4" stroke would give you a 408.
