305 to 350 a few questions...almost there
Alrite so im probably like half of the other guys on this website that probably seem like they ask the same stupid questions and everything else...but hell when ur on a tite budget and the last thing u want is for sumthing to go wrong after u just dumped a whole bunch of money on a rebuild/ engine swap...every bit of advice helps.
Ok so my situation: I bought a 84 camaro z28 H.0. about a year ago and the engine was in need of a rebuild. but my dad had an extra 350 sittin in the garage from a 75 corvette stingray so i bought that off of him for relatively cheep instead of putting the 305 back in. the motors bin acid dipped, bored .30 over, decked, all the good stuff.
so my questions are. am i going to be able to wire up all the stock sensors to the new 350? If im not mistaken the stock power steering pump will bolt up. i have a 75 stingray water pump but im pretty sure none of the sensors go to either of those parts. but how about the o2 sensors? i plan to buy headers for the car so wut do i do about them? i plan to use the stock quadrajet too so the sensors should work with that, but will they correspond with the new motor?
Im also using the 700r4 and if im correct u need a 2 piece seal to bolt the trans and motor up rite? and does anyone no where i can buy new transmission lines for cheap? Any bit of help or advice would be great because the motor is completly built and just sitting in the garage and with winter coming up here in jersey the sooner i can get the beast running the better.
Thanks

Hopefully your block was dipped in caustic soda and not acid. . .
The best bet would be to use the 305 heads on the 350. With 12cc dish pistons, zero-decked block, 1.94" intake valves, basic port clean-up, .039" compressed thickness head gaskets, all of your 305 stuff would bolt back on, sensors would be fine (although a 350 knock sensor and module would be better), and with a decent cam the thing would have power to embarrass any stock '75 Vette (or any 350 with '75 Vette heads on it).
You need a 153-tooth flexplate for a two-piece rear main seal crank - exactly what the 305 had.
