305 TBI to 350 carb
305 TBI to 350 carb
Hi everyone my name is shane and i am new to thirdgen.org. I am 17 and have a 91 camaro RS(305 TBI). I would like to put a 350 in during the winter months and was wondering if someone could give me the low down on the process. i would like to stay PA emissions legal, swap TBI to carb, and what would work best with the stock computer. thanks

I'm not sure about the PA specifics, but in general, you can't put a carb on a '91 model car. They weren't offered from the factory after 1987, and you can't go backwards in equipment.
You can do a 350 TBI, since that was offered in '91 Caprice/Roadmaster, as long as you have all of the equipment that one of those cars would have (probably the same things your car has), or go 350 TPI, which was offered in '91 f-bodies. Or, you can do something more expensive like LT1 or LS1, again as long as you have that equipment.
This is the way Federal law reads. How it is enforced in PA via inspection and testing - that's a different matter.
