ok bought donor car 88 iroc so i have everything my quetions are can i swap the ecm and harness for the 88 to the 91 and still have my electric speedometer work and will vats be affected the 88 does not have vats. i could live without vats if i had to but my speedometer is a must

VATS and electronic speedo are separate from the ECM. You shouldn't have a problem, although I can't say for certainty about the VSS input to the ECM.

thanks i wasn't sure about the swap and the vss to the computer should cause a problem i hope as i am planinng on keeping it a 5spd

The VSS is on the transmission for the '91, and on the speedometer for the '88. If the pin that provides that feed to the ECM is the same for both years (and I don't know if that's the case), then you won't have a problem.

I'm just not sure if that's the case.

why not just repin your tbi harness to run the tpi in speed density and eliminate the hassles?
