Best online engine store?
ALright, I've been looking around for 350 engines, from many different online stores. (example, jegs, summit racing, hawk's third gen parts, etc) and most of them are very different prices for basically the same engine with same horsepower, torque, and parts.
a friend of mine who bought a pretty nice and decent engine from a online store from canada, I couldnt understand what he really said, but as I understood what he said it was "formen's warehouse" I think I may be wrong, but I'm not having any luck finding thist store (gonna ask him again of course)
and he got this engine for $1,300, and it has 290 horsepower, and runs really great.
any place I can go to to find a pretty nice 5.7 L for a low price?
Thanks,
Tim

ebay!!! never know what will pop up from time to time
for a custom motor, i would recommend T and L racing development in NC, got mine there and they are a pleasure to deal with.

Re: Best online engine store?
Thanks, but I wont even think about looking on ebay, I get ripped off all the time from there.
the page you sent me looks awsome, I just dont really see a 350 anywhere, and thier engines are hiked up to $3,000...
any other places?
Im thinking I should just stick with the engine I found on jegs for $2,400.
but I want something a little cheaper.

Here is my
. You get what you pay for. If you are getting an engine for $1300 your not getting to many new parts inside of it. Parts cost money and the reason the motor's cost money is the parts. Labor is pretty cheep in the big picture.
Yea... you might get 290 hp but how long is it going to last? Are you expecting to get 100K out of a $1300 high perf motor? I don't think so..
Brand name places.. Jeg's, Summit, GMPP sell good solid parts that will last.
Is it worth it to get a $1300 motor that only lasts a year?

I've got one of those $1300 Goodwrench replacement 350's in my '84 Chevy full-size van. It's been pulling a two-horse trailer for the last 11 years. Has just under 100k miles on it now. Runs just fine, doesn't burn oil (I have only used AMSOIL synthetic in it since it had 8k miles on it - I wasn't the one that put the engine in).
The $1300 engine is 260 HP, the 290 HP engine is more like $1700. Plus shipping, of course.
Perhaps your friend said "Performance Warehouse" Or "Northern Performance". Or "Northern Auto". Or "Auto Performance Warehouse".
