305 to 305 help

Hello all,

I have a couple questions you may be able to answer for me. I have a 1986 z28 that i am restoring. It was sitting in a yard for a few years. The body, frame and interior are in really good shape still. It will need a new exhaust system, rear end, and front breaks. The engine is not in great shape. Last time we ran it it wouldn't stay running in high rpm's unless we ran it a while, and it sounded like a lawnmower. I found a guy selling a 305, with 27,000 miles on it. New carb, intake man., distributer, and couple other things. I got him down to accept 700 for it. Is that a good deal? No i don't want to bump up to a 350, cause i want to keep my existing 5-speed tranny, and I dont have a huge amount of money.

So is this a good deal?

THANKS!!!

-Andrew

Well, Im leaning towards the 305 right now. Is that a good deal?
If this falls through i may look around for a 350.

Depends upon what carb, intake, heads, and cam it has. Most likely, it isn't worth $700.

Re: 305 to 305 help

It looks like its in really good shape, and only 27,000 miles. If I can talk him down to 600 would it be worth it?
