383 swap complete, need help w/fuel pressure
Hey everyone,
I am new to the forum but my buddy recommended this site for great help.
I recently completed swapping out my old 305 with a blown piston for a brand new 383 stoker motor. I have about 150 miles so far max on the new motor and I can not get the fuel pressure under control. Last time I checked it was at about 60 psi. The shop that did the work for me changed the regulator out for me, and yes i upgraded the injectors also. I had them put in accel 24lb injectors. So here is the question.
1) How do I get this fuel pressure under control? the screw on the adj. regulator does nothing. Is it possible the shop installed the regulator wrong?
2) Secondly, will I harm the engine or anything else by driving with too much fuel pressure? It is just a bitch to start when hot, cold starting is no problem.
I am so close to having this car ready to run and your help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris
p.s. sorry for the lack of background info, I am on the road right now and will be home later on tonight. If any additional info is needed to help me out let me know and I will reply.
