Re: I4 motor mount question

are there any other engines that will use the mount locations that are currently in the car?

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: I4 motor mount question

All engines use the same mount "locations". They just use different "stands" bolted to the K-member. All cars are the same there.

Re: I4 motor mount question

I doubt it.... that's why they make different "stands" in the first place, is to fit different size/shape engines, which that one is pretty "different".... but as far as any kind of specific details about those 4-cyls, I haven't the vaguest foggiest clue. When you're getting rid of it, just get the right "stands" for whatever more sensible motor you're putting in its place.

Re: I4 motor mount question

That would be logical...

What people usually do, is bolt up the motor, trans, mounts, crossmember, and all that; lower the motor down into the chassis, with the rear of the trans mounted where it needs to be; mark the frame; and drill for the frame side of the mounts.
