motor mount question

ok im doing a v6 to v8 swap and i know i can just get lower motor mounts from any 3rd gen v8 fbody and bolt them to the holes further up on the k-member. but the problem is that my v8 is from 1966 and it has a different style of motor mount for the ones that bolt to the block. does anyone know of any quick solutions or adapter kits to make this work?

No adapter kits.

But, there are guys who have the mounts you need available.

Like me.

I've been waiting for someone to say they need them.

If you were considering a TH350, I have a crossmember and driveshaft you could use as well.

What heads are you going to use? 1966 heads won't have the accessory bolt holes on the ends.

yes but you also need one hole in the pass side head end for the alternator pivot bolt

you can drill and tap the 3/8" hole though

also a 66 block is no different than any other block

in that the mount bracket holes pattern is the same
different style in 66 yes but same bolt pattern

no issue here at all

also, these 55-60's heads didnt always have no holes, only typically fuelie and power packs didnt, but regular passenger/truck(lower HP) ones did, almost always

are some common misconceptions here i see

Re: motor mount question

hmm i think i might already have a hole somewhere for that alternator pivot, ill look for it next time i get to it. it has to have a provision for an alternator somewhere, the guy i bought it from just took it out of his truck and he sold me and alternator and some brackets with it.
