Well, to start with, that thing you're holding in the first pic is called a "torque wrench" - used to apply precise tightening to critical fasteners (you look perplexed. . .).

Okay, all seriousness aside, any plans for TPI mods? That cam and those heads will want to flow more than stock TPI can possibly handle.

Lol at the torque wrench comment, im hoping your joking, perplexity is my daily tude lol
Well.. thats what i was hoping for you guys to hollar at me about, TPI mods.. what size injectors should i use? and what is the most popular way to mod the plenum/baseplate? i've owned plenty of TPI's, and know them well.. i just never modded a stock setup. I have a good friend that owns a machine shop that can do just about anything, so let me know what you think would be best.
----------
Oh btw, my buddy just noted that i was joking about the 'Made in China' note on the torque wrench in that pic.. as i thought craftsman was a 'quality' tool.. that wrench has been replaced 4 times now..lol.
(No offence to any chinese that happen to look at this post lol..)

Well, if you want to get it over in one shot, a Stealth Ram would be the ticket. Otherwise, you're looking at aftermarket runners, ported plenum, and ported base.
I would think 24 lb injectors should be fine for that set-up.
More/better recommendations would come from the TPI forum.

Re: Thought i would show er and ask?
Well, for now.. im going to have to restrict the beast till i get some $$.. and use the stock TPI i have for initial build.. then later on i will upgrade. I already have a new pair of flowmatched 24lb injectors, and after market rails.. also blocked off the cold start.
What is the best sounding exhaust system for a L98? I was thinking magnaflow, but do you think i should do a Y-Pipe.. cats/nocats (no exhaust smoggers here).. and what brand/type headers would you suggest?
John

'89 TPI didn't have the cold start.
The Exhaust forum has a bunch of info on that topic. There's a member Dyno Don who fabs up 1-3/4" primary shorties w/y-pipe, he'll do single or dual cat style, w/ or w/o A.I.R., ceramic coated or bare, whichever you want (from what I hear - I haven't talked to or dealt with him). For performance and ground clearance, that's your best option available today. After that, in the 1-5/8" primary choices, I'd say Hedman dual cat shorty set, or Hooker 2055HKR w/3" single cat y-pipe (both are mandrel bent and maintain the ID throughout the pipes). With any of these, if you don't do cat(s), just put straight pipe in to the cat-back. 3.5" cat-back will flow a little better than 3" while maintaining routing and ground clearance. You're putting together an engine with pretty healthy potential, so I'd say plan a little bigger and only have to do it once.
Long tube headers may start out cheaper, but issues such as O2 sensor, ground clearance, y-pipe, routing, etc., get in the way really quickly. The potential performance benefits really don't make up for it.
Magnaflow seems to be getting more popular. The shop I've talked to about doing the exhaust on my LS1 swap likes them.

Yeah i think magnaflow sounds pretty sweet compared to Borla to be honest. I will decide on my headers and such once i get it in a vehicle, What do you think about a Vortech supercharger? Work okay with the TPI?
