350.
It'll make the power at lower RPMs, meaning increased longevity and economy, and less expensive hardware to support whatever power you're making.

This thread should explain everything you want to know and more about your question. It's a lot to do with preference. I like the 327 idea personally, but everyone like something different. 350 would be better for economy. Either will last a long time if you do proper maintenance. That makes a bigger difference then engine size.

ive red the thread but i still am not sure about the difference in acceleration if there is much of one with matching hp on both sizes

Re: i need advice
For what you want I would have to say the 350 would be better. With the 327 acceleration will be at higher rpms. The 350 will also provide more torque, and since it doesn't need to rev as high it will act a little more efficient, and street friendly. There are a few other reasons for it to be more efficient, but hard to explain. It is similar to comparing a 350 to a 383. The larger engine will provide more torque at lower rpms, where it is used on the street. Acceleration in a 327 will benefit more from a stall converter, since it doesn't have as much torque. Both will be about the same speed if set up right. 350 is the wiser choice I think, but a 327 has a unique sound. That's the only thing I like better about it.

I challenge you to be able to tell the difference between identically-built 327 and 350 (same induction, heads, CR, exhaust, etc.) by sound alone.
(BTW, it's up to you to build the identical 327 and 350. . .)
All that is being said here assumes both engines make the same peak horse power.

Re: i need advice
i know identically the 350 has a lower tone and more peak power but if u have them built differently to where the 327 has the same peak hp wouldnt it be the better engine

i like ur sense of humor yeah i understand its more expensive its mainly my dad trying to talk me into it saying its better on gas and will accelerate faster Joined: Mar 2000

If you put the same parts (cam, intake, carb, headers, etc.) on/in a 327 and a 350, the 327 will be a little peakier, meaning reduced driveability and needing higher RPMs to be "comfortable". If you build them so the 327 has the same RPM powerband, then it will be better on gas, but it will never accelerate faster because it will not make as much power due to reduced torque at any given RPM.
