cracked block and 69 block
the problem started when i got a massive water leak and the gaskets wasnt the problem,to make the story short i have #8cylinder wall cracked. so i found a long block casting #3914678 and heads are 3998920 wich makes me think it came out of a 72-73 350 truck. would this motor be a good candidate for a swap into my iroc z, i just need a quick fix for my car since its my daily driver the price for engine is 300. i have another set of spare heads #14101083 would i get more power out of these heads than the 920's? i will keep the stock tpi for now
can anybody recommend me a cam for this combo, see mods on sig what are the specs in the slp tpi cam?
would i be able to use my stock fly wheel?
thanks for help

More likely it's a mix-n-match rebuilt engine. I'd just use the short block and swap everything from your old engine onto it.

If you've got a roller cam, you can't put it in that block.

Re: cracked block and 69 block
ok, so i need a hydralic flat tappet cam but it has to be computer compatible right?
so we dissasembled the engine and found dirt in the crank and 3 cylinder walls have rust on them because they left the motor outside for a while and rain water got inside thru the heads. i have to take it to the machine shop can they submerge the block in some kind of acid to get rid of the rust? or do they have to hone it??
