4.3l v6

i was wondering if a 91 chevy 4.3l v6 fuel injected engine can swap with my 2.8l v6 carbed. it was pulled out of a truck and has been sitting in a friends shop for a year or less, runs and is only 350 bucks

now, i was wondering if
A. will it mount right up?
B. can i rip the fuel injectiong crap off and mount a carb onto it,
a. will a four barrel or two barrel fit?
b. i would then have to put a fuel pump on the line correct?
C. Will it bolt to the 200 metric turbo trans
D. anything else i might need to know if i decided to undertake it this.
E. will the engine make a big difference over my 2.8? i believe the 4.8L is a 262

now my other option is to pick up a 350 and rebuild it, i found one in someone yards that has been sitting there for a year free.

A. what would the rebuild cost run me?
B. what is the cost to take it to a shop and have it checked for hairline cracks, cleaned, coated and baked?
C. will i need a new flywheel?

i know the 350 will bolt right onto my tranny and i dont have to changes my torque converter or bell housing but i dont know about the fly wheel.

what is your thoughts and recommendations on this and why?

Re: 4.3l v6

the trans will not bolt to either motor
the 2.8 is a 60* engine while the 4.3 and 5.7 ar both 90* motors 2 completly diff bellhousing paterns

yeah,project89 pretty much put everything in a nutshell for ya,and I can also verify that those eng/trans combos won't work.

Re: 4.3l v6

its also the same amount of work to put in the 4.3 as it is the 350
both use the 350 motor mounts and 90* pattern transmission.

the only thing u may get away with is with the 4.3 u may be able to keep the v6 front springs

and also if its not a vortec 4.3 its not worth the time to drop it in

Re: 4.3l v6

if i go with a 200r4 tranny on a 350, will i need a new drive shaft? or is that only with the 700r4's? and where can i find the bolt patterns?

Re: 4.3l v6

u will notice the difference as soon as u see them. the 60* stuff the 2 top bolt holse are very high and close together.
