Need Specific Info Please 305 to 350.

I did a search and went through about 16 pages of posts talking about 305 to 350 swaps and only found stuff on TPI and fuel injectors, computers, knock sensors.

I am getting a GM Goodwrench crate motor with about 46,000 on it for $500 everything on it except the Air cleaner, Alternator, headers (because they are for a Second Gen Camaro) and Power steering pump also because it's the guys for his 57 Chevy. The Motor was a brand new crate that a guy installed in a 84 Chevy Malibu Wagon which was sold to the guy who I am buying it from tomorrow. He put the engine in his 57 a couple years ago and only put about 12,000 miles on it in those 2 years.

From what I understand it will hook right up to everything I have right now. It's a complete engine runs awesome, I think it's a good deal. Just need any info or ideas so I can get this done ASAP.

Re: Need Specific Info Please 305 to 350.

What do I need to change out? The motor has a HEI Disty with a Edelbrock 1406? is the 600cfm carb on it with a Weiand Intake. And on my 305 I have a HEI Disty with new cap and rotor and spark plug wires with a Brand New Eldelbrock Intake with stock Carb 4BBl Rochester Q-Jet.

I need to know if the setup currently on the 350 will work in my Camaro. Currently the Camaro has a LG4 305 5 Speed.

And if there is anything I need to change out right away?

Also would it be easier to pull the whole engine and transmission out at the same time unbolt them from each other then put the transmission on the 350 then put it back in? or is this not even possible?

I'd put the 305 stuff on the 350 if I were you. And pull the engine/tranny together.

Wait, that's what I did!

(But mine was auto tranny, not 5-speed)

Ok thank you. I will be pulling the engine and tranny out together then pulling the tranny off of the 305 replace clutch with something don't know yet. Then putting back on 350 and install. Was going to get it done this weekend but I have to work up in washington for the Reserves. So it probably won't be done until next weekend.
