I'm new to this so I have some basic questions about 82's-84 Z28.

1. Will a T5 work with a 350 V8.?

2. Can I swap a V6 to a 350 V8 without changing the rear differential?

3. Is this a bad idea?

82-84 would be a Z28. The IROC's were 85-90. In 91-92 they are back to Z28.

A V6 T5 can work with a V8 if you change the bellhousing to a V8 model, but the V6 T5 is even weaker than the V8 T5 so its not recommended.

Yes you can use the same rear end, no problems there.

Yes its a bad idea to try to use a V6 T5 with a V8, but its not a bad idea to change a V6 to a V8 if you know what you're doing. Its not something for a newbie, though.

 

My mistake on the IROC's but thanks for the correction and thanks for the info. I don't have allot of money right now so I can't afford a 6 speed and 350 V8 so I'm just looking at my options. I have a 84 5 speed camaro with a V6. I want to do an engine/tranny swap... Thanks again!!!
