need some help zz383
I started with my 89 iroc 350tpi. I hated the power (or lack of) it would not even break the tires loose. I got a great deal on a zz383 and my good friend has a auto repair shop and said I could use one of his lifts. Fastforward- I am almost ready to put the motor in but I have a few ?'s. Do I just switch over the sensors in the head, lower manifold, and oil pressure unit? Then just plug in the connectors? Is there anything else I might be missing? I have read the tpi to carb tech article. Here is the motor I am putting in. It has a hole in the front, 2 in the front on top, 2 in the top in the back, and oh course 1 in each of the heads. Can I put the coolant sensor in the back right instead of the head? How bout the other from the lower manifold?

Re: need some help zz383
I would think just moving the sensors to the new engine would work. I wouldn't put the coolant temp sensor in one of the 2 rear fittings in the intake. If you do, make sure coolant is to the top of the hole before putting the sensor in. I put my sensor there at first too, but since the coolant doesn't really circulate there, and probably more that there was an air trap there, it would take forever to read the warmed up engine temp. as well as not respond to engine temp. changes very well. Feel free to use any port in the heads or front of the intake though.

Ok. Now if I plug those 3 sensors in and still have the ecm in and wired, will the ecm read the coolant temp, oil pressure and turn on the fans?
Thanks
