lq4 engine different?

I am new to chevy motors but I have picked up a camero with a blown engine for cheep and am working on fixing it up. My question is i have got a 6.0 out of a 06 chevy van and was wondering if it was the same as what comes in the silverados and h2s. I was looking and it appears to be the same engine but it is only rated a 300 hp while the others are 325. What is the differance? I saw a article where someone took a lq4 and put l92 heads and a hot cam and bumped th hp up to something like 470 hp is this possible with the 06 van engine? I want to get good hp but need to know what I need to get it. Sorry for the newby questions but like stated before I am new to the chevy engines I am used to working on fords.

note I put this in the general engine tech section but was told to put it in here.

I moved your original question into the LSx forum (the LQ4 is a LSx family engine). https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/ltx-...q4-engine.html Answers there.
