I just ordered a 383 crate motor with first fuel tpi setup from precision auto machine. It will come with a computer tuned for it and it's supposed to make 400 hp and close to 490 ftlbs of torque. I will post pics when i recieve and have it installed. There was a video of it on youtube. Can't wait!

sure, with a more aggresive cam and different intake setup, but this motor will be built for a daily driven car that i can really enjoy anywhere. I've had all kinds of cars with all kinds of engines, and my experience has shown me that this is a great package. By the way, 400 hp and 490ftlbs of torque is nothing to sneeze at.

 

Better plan on a new set of rear tires. With that 490 lbs of torque your tires will be smoking.

That sounds like a sweet deal! I just had a 383 built at a local shop. It cost me just about the same, and it did not include tuning, computer, intake, or ignition. Kickin' myself in the *** now, it sounds like a great setup. The numbers sound like what I wanted to be at, but I doubt I'll get those after everything is said and done... Enjoy it!!

73duster, which compression ratio did you do to get those numbers?

 

the motor is a 10.5 to 1 compression ratio 383 using the first intake setup, erson cam with 218 duration on the intake and exhaust, 484 lift and 110 lobe separation. aluminum heads with 2.02 1.60 valves.

 

did you buy from their ebay store or did you call them directly?
their ebay store says its $7,500 for the engine you listed with 375hp and unlisted torque

the 400hp 490lb-ft version is $8,999 on their site.

who did you sleep with to get that deal and can i get their number...

they seem to have recently updated their website. They have different listed prices, but if you carefully read their parts list, they include different things from one to the next. The more expensive one for example includes custom laptop programmable features. Call them directly.
