Need some help quick....

So im new to all this site but ive read a lot of the stuff and it seems like this is the best place to get the info i need and i really do NEED it. I live in michigan and spring is almost here and my 87 formula is far from done... I need some help on this messed up contraption i bought. It has an 87 corvette engine, supposedly... with the original 5 speed from the bird. i took out the stock exhaust manifolds to replace them with headers and now i need help trying to figure out how to get the brackets back on to the drivers side for the A/C and power steering stuff. I also need to know if what i have is an actual legit vette engine because all the diagrams and stuff ive seen dont look a hell of a lot like mine. my AIR pump was on the lower pass side of the block and alternator was right above it.... its TPI by the way.... but on the other hand it did have the exhaust bolts for both standard 350 and vette 350 setup, on the other hand its a mix of v-belt and 4 ribbed belt for the alt. also the water pump i got from the store is the shorter one supposedly for the vette but the one on my orignal engine was the long one. any help on identifying this "thing" would be greatly appreciated. other than help with those brackets off the headers and identifying my engine any other "tips" for putting the front and top of a swapped engine back together would be awesome thanks...

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.

Forget about what accessories are on the engine. If the engine came from a Vette, the only way to get it into an f-body would be to put the f-body accessories on it. Everything you described so far sounds just like '87 f-body accessories.

The quick way to determine if it is an '87 Vette TPI engine is to look at the heads - are they aluminum? Yes, Vette. No, f-body.

To get the bracket back on with headers, go to http://static.summitracing.com/globa...ok-2055hkr.pdf , see Figure A.
