I have a 92 RS Camaro with an L03 and 700r4 that barely runs. I also have a 93 Caprice LTZ with an L05 and 700r4 that is falling apart, but runs great.

The Camaro has strange issues that started recently, loss of power, backfiring randomly through exhaust or intake, bogs when given gas, etc. We have checked timing, run injector cleaner, check ignition components, and it is stumping us. I think it may be the computer. So, since I would like a 350 in the RS anyway, I am going to just throw in the L05. Question is, will the computer for the Caprice work in the Camaro? Will it hook to the wiring harness and everything?

Side question, what kind of mods could I get away with without changing the chip? LT1 cam? maybe L98 heads?

The computer in the camaro now will work with the 350. I believe you need the knock sensor from the caprice


You can do all types of mods to you car without chipping and it could run fine, but to squeeze all the hp and tq out of the mods tuning will be required.



l03 to l05 is pretty strait foward.

 

But if the computer is bad I'd like to use the caprice one, is there no chance of that working?

 

You can try, I know these cars and the computers are very finiky. Took the computer from a 91/92 z28 and it would not work for my 88 camaro, but worked fine on my 89 RS.

The 89 RS and the 91 z28 computer both did not work in the 88 Camaro.

Even if it has the same plug in, it might not work, just FYI
