The 305 TBI in my 92 camaro went up so I put an 88, 350 jasper engine in it. I’m pretty sure the old 305 had 350 injectors in it with the 305 computer. I am now running the old 305 throttle body, injectors and computer with new 350, but it pops and stutters at slight throttle, and It also boggs down at low RPM’s. Is this because of the old computer or do I have another problem? Oh and the engine has an edelbrock intake, accel ignition, throttle body regulator, throttle body spacer and injector spacers but other than that is stock, if that helps any.

 

It would help if you could explain why you think you have 350 injectors already. Your popping sounds like a lean misfire, which is what we expect when you put a 350 under 305 injectors and 305 fuel mapping. Sure, the 305 injectors will support over 200 horses, even though the 305 was rated at 170. Sounds like you could get by with just a custom chip, or a 350 chip with verified 350 injectors, if your cam isn't too wild. Also, your thread probably belongs in the TBI section rather than engine swap.

 

Ok thanks. But the privious owner told me it had 350 injectors, but he also told me the 305 had been rebuilt too and it hadnt. The main reason i think its got 350 injectors is because the 305 ran really rich. I do know the computer is stock though. I will prolly just get some new 350 injectors just to make sure though. What is the best chip to get? Ive heard Hypertech are not that great but i dont really know.
