Anyone know about Carbed engines?
I am thinking about swaping my stock 305 for a carbed 350, but I do not know what all goes into putting one in. I have heard it is easier than staying fuel injected because you do away with the ECM and what not. If anyone has done this type of swap before could you plese tell me what I need to do in order to thuis as easyu as possible. Thanks Matt

There is a tech article linked from the thirdgen.org homepage about converting from EFI to carb.
Changing to carb is more expensive than putting your 305 EFI system on a 350. More complicated, more things to modify because you've defeated computer controls.
Almost without exception it's cheaper and easier to stick with the induction system your car currently has than it is to convert it to something else.
It is also illegal to put a carb on a '91 chassis vehicle in all 50 states.

Re: Anyone know about Carbed engines?
Thanks for the info, right now I am just researching to find out what exactly I want to do, I was thinking about putting a carbed 350 in my car because I have been reading about some of the difficulties people are haveing with installing new ECM's and wireing, so I was just considering useing a Carbed motor. I would really like to put a used LT1 from a newer Z-28 or corvette in my car, but I don't know about that type of swap either. I have been reading that a lot of people have problems with their VATS system when they do that type of swap, and I do not know that much about camaro's electric system in order to be able to mess around with it. If you have any information about swaping a Lt1 in my car I would appericate it. Thanks
