305 TPI to 350 Carb
305 TPI to 350 Carb
i have an 86 t/a with the TPI 305 it has given me so much trouble and im getting so annoyed. What all would i have to do to drop in a 350 carbureted motor? Complete motor not changing TPI to carb changing out intire motor?

It would be the changing from TPI to carb part, plus changing the engine part.
Of course, that should be obvious. So, what exactly are you asking? Are you asking how to change an engine?

A 305 and a 350 of the same year type (i.e., '79-earlier, '80-'85, or '86-later) are externally entirely identical. The way small block Chevys bolt to the transmission has not changed since 1955. Even the big block Chevy bellhousing bolt pattern is the same as the 265, 283, 327, 302, 350, 307, 305, 262, etc.
There may have been some differences between minor details such as the governor shift speed, but there is no difference in the way they bolt up.
