Hooking up gauges

I have purchased a 1992 Camaro RS with a 1995 LT1 swapped into it. All the dirty work is done already (Engine swap, t56 swapped in, suspension, etc) but the guy cut alot of corners in the wiring department. Is there a special way to get the stock 1992 Camaro RS cluster to work with the new engine? The original engine was a 305 V8, so I would think the tach could be made to work?
