Swap opinions please...
I just purchased a 86 Camaro Sport Coupe Berlinetta. Now keep in mind that I only assume this after looking at the tech specs on the main page. It has the 2.8 V6, T-Tops, MFI injection and I'm unsure, but I think it's the A4 trans. My question is this...
I'm looking at 3 possible engines for a swap, 1 of wich I'm unsure will even work. My choices are a 327, 350 or I've also been considering a brand new 3.4 HO from Jegs. Wich of these engines would any of you sugest along with why? I'm not wanting a huge powerhouse (say 300-400 HP) and a somewhat simple swap. I know that each of these choices wont get me in the power range mentioned if bought stock, and honestly I dont want it to. I want something I can build up over time and learn from.
The current 2.8 in the car is original and has a tad over 150k miles on it. The engine doesnt run perfect, but it runs well. You can tell it's tired and probally way over due for a rebuild though.
Anyhow, any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

There's a sticky on 327 vs 350. The Fiero crowd has mastered the swap of that 3.4 in place of the 2.8, the exact same 2.8 you should have, if your car is all original. I gan give you links to info on that if you want, but even with a serious build plus turbocharging, you're not going to get it past 300 horses.

I've checked out the Swapboogie last night right before posting. I've considered that swap and thus how I cam up with the idea of the 3.4 HO.
In reguards to the 327 vs 350, do you know the link? I might not be searching correctly because i've not found it yet.
In reguards to the 3.4 having difficulty reaching the 300HP mark, depending on the costs and difficulty, I'm willing to sacrafise the HP. I'm not looking for a straight up drag machine. More of a car that is comfortable to cruise in, yet enough power to "play" when the mood strikes.

It's still a mess. I've never gone through it to clean it up. But, the facts are there.
