jasper reman engine questions

I recently purchased a jasper remanufactured 350 for my firebird and had it installed at my mechanic . I understand there is a break in process but my question is the 350 doesn’t seem as quick as my old 305 why is that ? I have about 1000 on it now at 500 I went back and he adjusted the lifters the engine still runs rough he said that the rings need to seat still . im not really a car guy so I was just wondering if this sounds alright . With more miles will there be a performance increase ?

Re: jasper reman engine questions

The rings will seat within the first 30 minutes of the engine running. If the engine isn't performing well now, it won't get any better on it's own.

Sounds like one of the following:

- Your mechanic didn't adjust things properly (timing comes to mind)

- You have a speed density EFI system, and didn't reprogram it for the additional displacement.

- You didn't get the right type of engine

- Another case of a bad Jasper engine sold to a private individual (they seem to support regular customers very well)
