3.1l v6 to 350 carb
3.1l v6 to 350 carb
Hey guys, I just bought my first camaro ( first domestic for that matter) about 3 weeks ago now for 500 bucks, needs some work but runs pretty good. I think its safe to say that everyone knows the v6 is a turd. I found a 350 carbed that needs new rod bearings for 200 bucks. I seen that the basic rule is everything for the v6 is different, so swap it to a v8 basically......with the execption of the rear... First question would be. Does that include the drive shaft as well? i would think so but i figured I'd check. 2nd has to do with wiring. I Heard that all i really need to wire would be the would be the the fuel pump and the starter.....but that just doesnt sound right lol. can anyone shine some light on what all would need to be wired as well as the easiest way to do it.

Re: 3.1l v6 to 350 carb
Congrats on the buy. The rear is the same as a V8 some came with 9 and others with 10 only diff is posi. Youll need V8 motor mounts and springs. Im pretty sure everything on the drivers side will run the Dizzy and starter, but theres a few threads that can help you out on that. The trans isnt gonna work, The v6 input shaft is smaller and wont be able to with stand the torque from the 350, and I believe the V6 trans has a diff angle.
